Benue State government has said the Economic and Financial Crimes Commision (EFCC) was desperate to nail Governor Samuel Ortom.
His most important beg secretary, Terver Akase, raised the frighten in a word on Wednesday.
He described the disappear next to the anti-graft commission as an act of desperation.
Akase said: “The even at which EFCC is pushing its persecution of Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom is crazy.
“No day passes without the commission adding solitary more angle to their harassment of Benue officials.
“Their latest disappear is the put a question to for minutes of the Benue State Security Council meetings.
“Does the statutory mandate of the commission include regulation of states’ security affairs?
“We wonder why Benue is being singled out for witchhunt. Is Governor Ortom the first sitting Governor to defect to another political party? Why is his case different?”
The EFCC, final week, froze tale belonging to the Benue government.
The tale was, notwithstanding, unblocked subsequent two days.
Reacting, Akase had said the action was “Part of the evil agenda to cripple the state. It is only in Benue that the EFCC is probing the security vote of the governor.”
