Senator Hope Uzodinma representing Imo West Senatorial District has described as wrong news that he was arrested over $12 million failed contract.
He said the governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha was sponsoring crusade of calumny against him as a result of his gubernatorial ambition.
In a sound in Abuja which was made unoccupied to DAILY POST on Monday, the Director of Media and Special Duties of the Campaign association, Declan Emelumba, said the account was planted out of their dare-devil desperation to injure the image of the worthy Senator previous to the Imo electorate who are poised to vote for him in 2019.
The sound added that Okorocha has refused to arrive to grips with the reality that his son-in-law will not succeed him as governor, hence, he was going entire out to injure the All Progressives Congress and its Imo country gubernatorial candidate.
The sound wondered, “if there was any arrest is it not the press department of the panel that will issue such a statement to the entire media and not just to punchng.com?”
“Their latest plot is this Calabar dredging contract.”
“However they should know that the company handling the Calabar dredging contract is Calabar Channels Management Company in which Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has 60% equity shares.”
“So if there is anybody to be arrested for anything then it is the Managing Director of NPA and not a minority partner, Niger Global, in which Sen. Uzodimma is a shareholder.”
