A civil society association, Advocacy for Advancement of Peace in Africa has berated the newly elected governor in Osun State, Mr Gboyega Oyetola, for what it termed “delay and contradiction in action, saying he has “hit the ground crawling instead of running”.
The inhabitants, in an exclusive interview with our reporter through it’s National Coordinator, Comrade Waheed Sulaimon, on Wednesday said the newly constituted “Osun Special Health Intervention and Revitalization Committee” announced by the government on Tuesday exposed the fresh administration as a “confused entity with misplaced precedence “.
Sulaimon opined that despite the immense achievement the instant past government claimed to ownuse recorded in the health sector, coupled with failure of the governor to announce solution -explanation positions in his government for plane procure off, the health revitalization committee is none but a contradiction and misplaced precedence of kind.
He explained that the incumbent governor glaring played a meaningful role in the policy formulation and implementation of the final administration, in which he had constantly spoken on the acclaimed success in the health sector .
“I don’t gaze this government as a serious and responsive administration that really learn the tenets and scope of superior governance, to the extent of coming up with masses-oriented policies that tend towards making a meaningful alter in the socioeconomic life of the Osun populace.
“This is the man who held sway as the engine room of the final government, in his force as the Chief of Staff to the Governor. He had been heard occasion without number speaking on unprecedented achievement of that administration in the health sector among others.
“We were therefore taken aback when he announced a special intervention and revitalization committee for the sector yesterday. It means he knows all this while that the health sector in Osun is really in shambles and comatose but kept on deceiving people with white lies”, he resorted.
He further flayed the fresh governor for it’s failure to announce solution -explanation positions in the government for the target of effective administrative activities , adding that” the government is unhurried in taking decision and hurry in making boo-boo”.
The newly-appointed Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr Adeniyi Adesina was not on ground to react as at the occasion of filing this report, as various calls set through to him was not answered and text message sent to him was not replied.
Meanwhile, the Director of Publicity, Research and Strategy of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the kingdom, Barrister Kunle Oyatomi when contacted on phone described members of the inhabitants as mischief makers, saying there is none contradictory in what the governor has done.
He said the charter of the committee was a go towards advancing the success recorded in the health sector by Rauf Aregbesola led administration further, and possibly change on it.
“The inhabitants should engage themselves in very serious issues and finish chasing shadow. What the government has fair done is to enhance what has been done earlier than it came on board, there is no contradiction at entire.
“There is no doubt that the health sector in Osun is functional, you can see what the last administration has achieved; the O’Ambulance, through which over 40,000 accident victims and others were rescued , and the increased number of health centres with adequate staff and drugs are all evidence of achievement in the sector”.
When asked the import of revitalization as allotment of the committee’s mandate whether the sector is really functional he said” what the Governor meant is fair to reinvigorate what is on ground.
“The inhabitants should properly be informed, whether they contemplate they can ransack this government, they will complete up attacking themselves, they are none but mischief makers “, he said.
It will be recalled that Oyetola, through a word on Tuesday approved the instant composition and inauguration of the Osun Special Health Intervention and Revitalization committee with focus on the revitalization the existing nine (9) and five (5) kingdom and general hospitals respectively.
